Asus has launched a new tablet in India, the Fonepad 8. The Fonepad 8(FE380CG) is priced at Rs. 13,999 and will be exclusively available in Asus stores and on e-taller giant Flipkart.
The tablet runs on Android 4.4 KitKat with Asus ZenUI on top of it. The spotlight of Asus Fonepad 8 is its voice-calling feature, dual-SIM and 3G connectivity.
The Fonepad 8 tablet packs a 64-bit Intel Atom Z3530 1.3GHz quad-core processor and PowerVR G6430 GPU with 2GB RAM, an 8-inch HD (1280×800 pixels) IPS display with anti-fingerprint coating. It has 16GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 64GB with a micro SD card.
The Fonepad 8 tablet sports a 5-megapixel rear and 2-megapixel front camera. It comes with a 4000mAh battery that the Asus claims can provide up to 12 hours of video playback or browsing the Web, or up to 21 hours of 3G talk time.
On the connectivity front the tablet supports 3G, Dual SIM, voice calling, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS.
