Xiaomi launched their latest entry-level device Xiaomi RedMi 2 in the Chinese market.The device is likely to replace the RedMi 1S smartphones and will be available in china beginning January 9 and is priced at CNY 699 (roughly Rs. 7,100).
The dual-SIM Xiaomi RedMi 2 features a 4.7-inch HD IPS display at 1280 x 720 resolution along with a 312ppi., 1GB of RAM, 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor and Adreno 306 GPU.
The handset includes 8-megapixel rear camera and can shoot 1080p video along with a 2-megapxiel front-facing camera. The Xiaomi RedMi 2 also packs 8GB of internal storage, microSD card slot, dual-SIM support, and 2200 mAh battery. The budget smartphone also features regular connectivity options including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS besides 4G LTE (TDD/FDD) network support.
The phone will come with MiUI 6, which is the next version of the Android-based MiUI ROM. The Xiaomi RedMi 2 will be available in five colour variants – Yellow, Pink, Green, White, and Black.
The company has not revealed the global roll-out plans just yet, but we hope to see the phone in select Asian markets around March this year.
