New Colour-coding feature for Chrome in Android device launched by Google

New “Colour-coding” feature has been launched by Google for Chrome in Android device which help users to track multiple tabs open in Chrome easily. It will help Android users to have better organization of multiple tabs opened in Chrome and have ease to use.

As its difficult for users to distinguish among multiple tabs, this new update allows users to have ability to visual distinguish between different sets of tabs.

By this feature, users have access to assign distinct colours to each of the opened tabs, which will make its use easier to manage and recognize different tabs easily.

How Colour-coding feature will work in Chrome?

  • First step is to open chrome in Android device and start browsing.
  • Now, users need to create a “New tab group” by taping ‘+’ icon, next to the open tabs.
  • Users can then add Tabs which they wish to group into the ‘New tab group’.
  • Final step is to apply colours: Users need to long press the tab group’s title then menu will appear showing “Choose colour”. Now, users can select any colour for their choice from the palette appear.

The colour chosen will directly be applied to group’s title and icon. The process can be repeated for any other group as well.

With the feature, Google has tried to increase the functionality and usability of Chrome for Android users. The feature can be downloaded from Google Play Store as it is the latest version of Chrome for Android devices.

What is “Save Group”?

Apart from Colour-code feature, there is one more feature “Save Group” on which Google is working, by which users can access their saved tab groups from the desktop version of chrome. It will soon be seen on Android in the ‘Tab Switcher’ as a new tab. Saved tab groups will directly be opened in the main Tab Grid by just tapping it.
