Android Auto new update can support ‘Gemini Live’ and ‘Local media’ in your car as Google has been working on these two new features to introduce it on Android Auto.
‘Local media’ support on Android Auto:
- As it was reported in July only that the support for car’s radio will be controlled directly through Android Auto. Since then, the work on this functionality has been continued by Google.
- Some hints got that with the update of Android Auto 12.7, users will get access of adding and removing ‘Favourite’ station on Android Auto with the help of an app.
- Also, the information of how to use ‘Car Local Media’ through Android Auto will be added by the latest Android Auto 12.8 beta.
- Moreover, radio and local media icons have also been added in these latest updates.

‘Gemini Live’ support:
- It has been appeared that Google has started preparing Gemini Live support on Android Auto as it is not surprising because users have lots of complaints regarding issues with the ‘Google Assistant on Android Auto’.
- A codename associated with Gemini has directly referenced by the new string which also includes the ability to ‘start conversation’, but when it will get live is not confirmed. Also, some more assets has been added which include ‘ start’ used for Gemini.
- Earlier, for in-car always-listening voice function, “kit” was used by Google on Android Auto. After that Google has started using “Kitt_live” for the same in relation to Gemini live. But now Gemini Live has made its debut earlier this month, and Google has started working on the upgrade of Gemini on the Android Auto.
When the support of these two features ‘Gemini Live’ and ‘Local media’ will roll out on Android Auto is not exactly known as Google has not confirmed the fixed date for this but users can expect that with new updates, these features will be available on Android Auto.
