Samsung October 2024 security update is available to install in Galaxy S24 series which includes the devices- Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra. The latest security update was received by Samsung Galaxy S24 FE.
The GalaxyS24 series’ October update will be first received by the country USA. It is available on some carrier-locked variants including AT&T’s and let’s hope that it gets available for other carrier variants as well and unlocked units soon, in addition to the update for other countries as well.
What’s new in October 2024 security update:
Samsung October security update 2024 fixes 30 security flaws that are available in the operating system of Android that affect Galaxy devices and the system.
It’s also applicable in fixing vulnerabilities which affects Galaxy smartphones and smartwatches which is powered by the specific Exynos processors, but the availability is not same for the Exynos 2400 chip inside the Galaxy S24 and S24+.
How to identify the availability of update:
The availability of the October security update can be identified by checking the final four characters of its build number, which are AXI1.
Users can download it by opening the Setting apps in their Galaxy devices, navigate to Software update, and then Tap to Download and install. SETTINGS > SOFTWARE UPDATE > DOWNLOAD & INSTALL.
This update is totally a security update which looks for some bug fixes and for security of devices, it has nothing else to offer. Samsung has not released the One UI 7.0 software update, yet which is based on Android 15, as it is delayed and may arrive in 2025.

But there is a chance that some owners of Galaxy S24 of some market will get an opportunity to ‘beta test One UI 7.0’ this year. And the US will for sure be on the list of countries or might be on the top of the list where there is an option of ‘beta-testing’.
