Google Maps has finally started showing Waze reports on Android Auto, which was confirmed to be done in July. Now, crowdsourced police reports and incidents are available on Google Maps for Android Auto
What is a Waze report?
Waze reports are basically the feature in the ‘Waze navigation app’ that provides users the live reports of road conditions like traffic jams, accidents, police presence, road hazards, construction zones, and other incidents directly on the map.
And now, Google Maps is showing Waze reports. Google finally started incorporating one of the Waze data, which is “police reports,” on Google Maps for Android Auto.
Drivers using Android Auto will now be able to see reporting data from Waze users via Google Maps, which means that Google Maps users will be able to see if a Waze user reports a police speed trap, a car accident, or other incident.

Police reports and real-time incidents on Android Auto:
The image of a warning on Google Maps in Android Auto about police up ahead, with a message ‘From Waze drivers’ has been shared by one of the thread users, ‘Alex Mullis’. And, this integration of the Waze reports with Google Maps has been spotted for the first time.
To report police activity easily, the reporting process has also been updated by Google on Google Maps for Android Auto.
Also, it was mentioned by Google that it would come to Apple Car Play as well.
Roll out of Waze reports on Google Maps for Android Auto:
For now, this feature is not rolling out widely, as Google is rolling out the feature on a gradual basis. So, if you are not able to see it in your Android Auto, you need to wait for a wider rollout, or you can switch to Waze to skip the wait.
The step of integration of Waze reports into Google Maps taken by Google is in the very right direction and is very useful for everyone.
