From January 1, 2025, these Android devices will not support WhatsApp, as WhatsApp has announced that certain Android devices with older Android versions will no longer be able to run WhatsApp on them.
The minimum Android version required to run WhatsApp on devices after January 2025 is Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) or higher.
Thus, users with devices running Android 4.0.4 or lower will no longer be able to use WhatsApp after the mentioned date.
Why is WhatsApp ending support for older devices?
Older versions of Android devices are not compatible with the continuous evolution of apps.
As we know, WhatsApp keeps bringing new updates to its software to add new features and a better user experience. In this case, older devices are not capable of supporting these new updates because of their hardware limitations.
For example, WhatsApp is now integrated with Meta AI to allow its users to ask queries, generate designs, and more directly within the app. This new feature makes it difficult to maintain its compatibility with older versions of Android.

Thus, this is the full list that includes devices released between 2012 and 2014. These all are now considered outdated for WhatsApp’s evolving requirements.
