MediaTek is all set to introduce its new Dimensity chipsets in China next week. The launch of new Dimensity chips has been confirmed by the Taiwanese semiconductor company through its social media handle.
The name of the new chipset is not revealed but as rumor suggests, it is expected to be a MediaTek Dimensity 8400 SoC chipset, which would be a successor to last year’s Dimensity 8300 SoC.
New Dimensity chipsets have scored more than 1.8 million points in AnTuTu benchmarks, as revealed by the source. Moreover, it could use a 1+3+4 architecture.
The launch of new Dimensity chipsets announced by MediaTek in a Weibo post, stating that its next generation Dimensity chips will be launched in an event on December 23 at 03:00 pm (12:00pm IST).
MediaTek Dimensity 8400 Specifications (Expected)
It is expected that MediaTek could introduce the Dimensity 8400 SoC as the successor to the Dimensity 8300 SoC.
The New Dimensity chipset is an upcoming octa-core processor manufactured using TSMC’s 4nm technology and would have a 1+3+4 architecture too.
Furthermore, the chip could include the Immortalis-G720 MC7 GPU and is said to have scored over 1.8 million points in AnTuTu benchmarks.
Also, the Dimensity 8400 SoC could pack a prime CPU core clocked at 3.25GHz, three cores capped at 3.0GHz, and four cores capped at 2.1GHz.
Availability:
Redmi Turbo 4 is expected to be the first smartphone to debut with this new Dimensity chip.
The chipset is going to launch on December 23 and can go official in the next week of January in China.
MediaTek could launch this handset in markets outside China with the Poco X7 moniker.
It is also expected that OEMs can pack the Dimensity 8400 SoC in smartphones with an initial price tag of CNY 1,500 (roughly Rs. 17,250).
Moreover, rumors suggest that the Oppo Find X8S and Redmi K80E could also run on the rumored MediaTek Dimensity 8400 chipset.
