YouTube new auto dubbing tool has been introduced to help creators reach more viewers. The tool helps by automatically identifying the language of uploaded videos and generating alternative audio tracks in other languages.
What is YouTube new auto dubbing tool?
YouTube’s latest feature in December 2024 is its new auto dubbing tool for YouTube creators to reach more viewers.
YouTube has over 2.5 billion monthly users, and as they are from all over the world, they don’t speak/understand the same language.
As a creator, you need to dub your videos in multiple languages to reach more viewers and increase watch time.
To solve this problem, a new auto dubbing tool is introduced, which will help you by automatically generating alternate audio tracks for your videos to increase your reach on the platform.

How does the new auto-dubbing tool work?
The new tool works on AI-powered YouTube auto-dubbing technology that detects the language of uploaded videos, and after detecting the particular language of that video, it automatically creates a dubbed version of it in different languages.
For now, the tool is capable of supporting a total of nine different languages, including English, French, German, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, and Spanish.
Videos uploaded in the English language can automatically be dubbed into the other eight languages, while videos uploaded in any of the other languages can only be dubbed into the English one.
Before publishing videos, YouTube recommends creators to once review the dubbed videos, as the tool could make errors due to mispronunciation, accents, dialects, or background noise.
Issues might also come in translating proper nouns, idioms, and jargon, and the auto-dub tool might fail to match the voice with the original voice.
A new “Auto-dubbed” label will be added in the video description by YouTube for viewers to know that the tool is used to dub the video.
Availability of new tool introduced by YouTube?
Currently, the tool is available only for channels in the YouTube Partner Program that focus on knowledge and information, but soon its availability will expand to other content.
To know if it is available for your channel, you can check in the Advanced Settings within YouTube Studio.
To increase the availability of the tool and to make it more accurate, natural, and expressive to use, YouTube is working in partnership with Google DeepMind and Google Translate.
Also, YouTube is planning to bring an “Expressive Speech feature” to “help emulate the creator’s tone, emotion, and even the ambiance of the surroundings” soon.
This new auto-dubbing tool is really going to be a great and helpful tool for small creators who cannot spend much to hire a professional to dub their videos.
