Gmail for Android is rolling out a new Gemini AI Insert button to act as a shortcut for adding AI-generated replies to email. This new Insert button has now been started rolling out by Google on the Gemini panel in Gmail for Android.
Gemini AI Insert Button in Gmail:
Integration of Gemini in Gmail on Android helps users generate email or its replies using AI chatbots. Now, Gmail for Android is getting an ‘Insert Button’ to its Gemini Assistant. This is a shortcut by using which users can quickly add the AI-generated text to an email’s reply draft.
There are already a range of powerful AI features enabled by the Gemini panel in Gmail like summarizing email threads, retrieving information from old emails, and interacting with Google Calendar events.
Also, users who have access to Gemini in Gmail on Android are able to generate email replies using an AI chatbot. However, the generated AI chats have to be added manually to the email draft. Users either copy the AI text from the Gemini interface and then paste it to draft or they have to type themselves.

Well now, after this feature of ‘Insert Button’, all these cumbersome processes will become easy and faster for users. By using this shortcut, users can directly add AI-generated text to the email draft.
By tapping the Insert button, the AI-generated text will automatically get attached in the draft and users don’t need to manually copy and paste the response.
The new Gemini AI Insert Button will be like a sleek arrow and will be visible next to the Like and Dislike icons in Gmail’s Gemini panel on the bottom-right side of Gemini’s generated responses.
The feature follows the integration of Google Calendar support in Gmail’s Gemini Assistant.
This feature of the Insert button was available on the web version since last year; now it is rolling out to all the Android devices. However, users need to purchase a subscription to Gemini Advanced to take advantage of the feature.
Those who are eager to give a try to the new Insert button and other Gemini features in Gmail, need to be ensured that they have the updated version 2025.01.05.715468168 of the app via the Google Play Store.
