Google app may soon offer Bottom bar layout for Android with options to share, save, and access webpage insights, as it is seen that Google has been experimenting with design changes for Android over the past few weeks like removing search option from the bottom bar.
In June, it was revealed by ‘Leopeva64’, which is the well-known name in Chrome community, that Chrome Custom Tabs could get a bottom bar with an option of share, save, and get webpage insight.
As revealed from source, there might be three possible layouts variations of bottom bar-
- 1st layout in which one side there is ‘save’ icon and another side ‘share ‘icon with page insight in between.
- 2nd layout in which both save and share icons will be to the right while keeping the page insights icon on the left.
- 3rd layout in which there is no page insight option, keeping only save and share option within the layout of Google app’s browsing experience.
When is Bottom bar layout expected to be seen?
As for now, there is no bottom bar layout is available for the browser within the Google app. But users can soon get this update on their Android device, and it will be interesting to see the response of users when this change go live, as while viewing a webpage, the new change could take some of the screen space.
Google has started testing different layouts for the new design and feature of app’s main bottom bar, and all three different versions of layout of bottom bar for Android are being tested by Google which means settling on the final design is still takes some period.
Additionally, updated look for shortcuts can be expected by Android users on Google app, which would consume less space on home page, and this will be achieved by simply reducing size of the shortcuts and by removing accompanying text. Right now, this feature is in beta version and would take time for public release.
