T-Mobile has claimed that it has made a new world record for 5G upload speeds which would help consumers to upload and livestream faster than ever at crowded events and public places.
In a recent test conducted at the SoFi Stadium in California, T-Mobile working with partners Ericsson and Qualcomm, has achieved upload speeds of 2.2Gbps on its 5G network, which is the fastest 5G upload speed ever recorded in the world, as claimed by the company.
T-Mobile achieved the fastest 5G upload speeds of 2.2Gbps with the help of an emerging technology called 5G DC “5G Dual Connectivity”.
5G DC “5G Dual Connectivity”:
For faster and more reliable upload speeds, 5G DC combines two types of 5G spectrum including mid-brand and mmWave.
Previously, a smaller portion of the mmWave spectrum was used by T-mobile for uploads, but now to improve performance, the company started to push it up to 60%.
This major change will help the Un-carrier for faster uploads and real-time connectivity at crowded events like football games, concerts, and live broadcasts.
As the Un-carrier always promoted fast download speeds but upload speeds are equally important especially when more and more people stream live videos, share large photos or upload heavy files.. This necessity made the company to work for uploads speed.
It has been said by the carrier that the SoFi Stadium was the perfect test ground to check for 5G upload speeds which shows how millions of people flock there for concerts or games and want to livestream their experiences.
The company majorly wants to test the possibilities of what 5G DC can do at crowded events and other public places where many people are expected to gather. T-mobile 5G upload speeds test conducted by the company had taken place on a smartphone which is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X80 5G modem, present on the new Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.
